LOS COMITÉS DE PADRES DE FAMILIA DE PRIMARIA EN CONTEXTOS URBANOS Y RURALES DE OAXACA

El objetivo de este artículo es analizar el protagonismo de los comités de padres
y madres de familia en las primarias públicas del estado de Oaxaca, México. Los
comités son organizaciones que representan a las familias de las y los estudiantes
dentro de la institución escolar. Se realizó un estudio comparativo entre dos comités,
uno situado en la capital del estado y el otro en la comunidad rural Villa Hidalgo
Yalalag, de la Sierra Norte. El análisis se centra en sus formas de organización, sus
actividades y las percepciones que sus integrantes tienen sobre el propio comité.
El principal resultado respecto de sus disimilitudes es que mientras en la ciudad el
comité es solamente parte de la escuela, el de la comunidad rural también forma
parte de la estructura de cargos de la comunidad.
Abstract:
The objective of this article is to analyze the role of parent committees in public
elementary schools in the state of Oaxaca, Mexico. The committees are organizations
that represent the students’ families within the school institution. A comparative
study was carried out between two committees, one located in the capital city of
the state and the other in the rural community of Villa Hidalgo Yalalag, located
in the Sierra Norte. The analysis focuses on their organizational structures, their
activities and the perceptions that their members have about the committee itself.
As regards their differences, the main result is that while in the city the committee
is only an element of the school, the committee in the rural community is also part
of the community’s structure of responsibilities.
